"A Bee Moment" captures the quiet of a bee resting gently on a fingertip, painted true to the scale of life. This 4 x 4 inch watercolour is inspired by a true moment the artist witnessed on the day she painted it. A little bee lay on the path and needed a little boost her husband gently guided the little bee onto his finger and it flew into the saftey of the flowers.
This layered watercolour is then finished with subtle pearlescent wash that catches the light — illuminating the fine shimmer of the wings and the soft dusting of pollen gathered on the bee’s back. The luminous details shift gently as the viewer moves, bringing the tiny bee vividly to life.
